Travel technology company Comtec has announced a restructure which will see its business in the UK split into three divisions.

It says the reshuffle will allow it to be more customer-focused.

Each division will be headed up by a general manager.

The company has brought in former Multicom boss Chris Nourse who will head up the gateway and distribution division.

Simon Powell, Comtec chief executive, said: "This is a real shift in approach for Comtec, and is a step we are taking to ensure that we continue to deliver the very best to the travel industry both in the UK and around the globe.

"Despite the economic downturn, we are continuing to see real growth and in order to keep up with demand and continue to innovate on our customers’ behalves we have had to look at how we run our business.

"I know that our new ‘unit-focused’ structure will provide the empowerment, simplicity and scalability, as well as the right people, to continue to take the business forward."

Powell said there would be no changes to the overseas offices.
