EasyJet chief executive Andy Harrison is to take over at hotel and restaurant group Whitbread, which runs the budget Premier Inn chain.
Harrison is due to leave easyJet this summer and will become chief executive at the group in November, replacing Alan Parker who is retiring after six years in the role.
Whitbread saw group sales rise by 9% for the three months up to February 18. This includes an increase in sales at Premier Inn of 1.7% compared with declines in the previous quarters.
Premier Inn has more than 40,000 rooms and plans to expand by around 2,000 hotel rooms per year with land already secured for the new properties.
