Learn about London Heathrow Terminal 5
Our amazing new home at London Heathrow Terminal 5 has been created to make your journey as effortless and enjoyable as possible.
Since the opening of London Heathrow Terminal 5 in March, British Airways has increased the number of flights per day at the terminal to 500. This represents about 92 per cent of our total London Heathrow operation.
The remainder of our London Heathrow operation will move to Terminal 3 next month with flights to and from Barcelona, Madrid, Helsinki, Lisbon and Nice moving on the 25 February 2009.
Additionally, there will be terminal changes for Malaga, Nice and Vienna for the summer schedule on 29 March 2009:
- Flights between London Heathrow and Nice will move into Terminal 5.
- As a result flights between London Heathrow to Vienna and Malaga currently operating to and from Terminal 5, will move into Terminal 3.
The flight moves mean that all British Airways Heathrow flights to and from Spain will operate into and out of Terminal 3 and flight connections will be easier for customers transferring to/from Nice flights.
Flights to Bangkok, Singapore and Sydney will move later in 2009.
Terminal 5 has hosted more than 13 million customers and handled almost 95,000 flights and is now not only reaching customers high expectations, but also surpassing them.
British Airways’ punctuality levels were up more than 20 per cent in June, July and August 2008 compared with the same months last year. The airline’s on-time record is now at its best ever. We had a record December for ‘Ready to go’ punctuality at 50% (BA records date back to 1985).
Terminal 5 is working extremely well and is providing the best levels of customer service seen at London Heathrow for many years, with record levels of punctuality and baggage performance.
So whether you’re flying from, into or just passing through Heathrow, Terminal 5 will ensure your whole experience will be straightforward and pleasurable.
