EasyJet today confirmed it will offer Starbucks coffee and luxury teas onboard flights next month.
Packets of “micro-ground” Starbucks VIA Ready Brew coffee beans will be available on flights from Newcastle, Stansted, Gatwick and Madrid from May 1.
The airline said the instant coffee, priced at £2.10, had the same flavour as Starbucks-brewed coffee and used the same farmers and suppliers.
Rob Pickering, easyJet’s inflight category manager, said: “This is a significant step forward for the easyJet inflight product range
"It comes at the same time our fresh food range has been transformed to suit local country markets.”
Rupert Lawrie, director of business alliances and licensing at Starbucks, said: “Offering Starbucks VIA Ready Brew to easyJet passengers provides us with a great opportunity to ensure new and existing Starbucks customers get the chance to experience high-quality coffee in an instant.”
Passengers will also be able to buy Starbucks Gourmet Hot Cocoa and a selection of four Tazo teas (English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Refresh and Passion varieties), priced at £2.
