Triton has written to all Advantage members urging them to attend its annual conference after receiving no registrations from the consortium.
With just two months to go before the conference, the lack of interest from Advantage members means its bosses are also not registered.
Delegate numbers for Triton contrast sharply with the 130 agents already registered for Advantage’s own conference in September.
Triton chairman Colin Heal wrote to all 450 Advantage members this week promising major announcements, including operational and structural changes to Triton.
How Stella Travel (UK), the new parent of Triton founding member Global, will work with the super-consortium will also be revealed.
Heal conceded the number of Advantage members attending would not be as high as previous years due to the lure of Advantage’s event, but said 10 Advantage agents booked on Wednesday.
The lack of interest was not a sign of Advantage distancing itself from Triton, he insisted, adding that Advantage chairman Steven Freudmann was attending.
“I am really confident Triton will go forward with three partners,” he said.
Advantage commercial director Julia Lo Bue-Said said: “For us the emphasis has been on the Advantage conference. It will be smaller and may be seen as more relevant to members.”
Lo Bue-Said confirmed she and chief executive John McEwan were not registered for the Triton conference and had yet to decide whether they would attend.
Organisers claim 200 Worldchoice and 100 Global agents have registered for the event on April 18-20.
